Telling your story matters.
Storytelling is critical for connecting with audiences. Whether using storytelling for a job interview or to connect with others or as a tool for community building or activism, it is vital for fostering empathy, trust, and personal growth. This class will give you the basics to compelling personal storytelling to empower, connect, and inspire.
In this course, you'll learn about the psychological impact of storytelling on our minds and relationships. You'll then learn how to brainstorm and find stories from your own life. Finally, you'll learn about key storytelling components (tension, pivotal moment, character development, and resolution) and how to apply that to your own stories.
Course Instructor Lisa Cantrell will walk you step by step through activities to help you find, develop, and hone your story. By the end of the course you will have a final draft of your own narrative to share in front of an audience or just with a friend.
